Steps for a Hassle-Free Skin Care Routine

Starting a skincare routine can be overwhelming, especially with so many available products on the market. Fortunately, this handy guide can help you narrow your basic skincare routine, regardless of your skin type.

Before You Start:

However, before you start, determine at least what skin type you have (oily, normal, dry, combination, or sensitive) to narrow your product choices.

Once you determine the best ingredients for your type, here are the following steps you need to do:

  1. Cleanser

Cleansers help wash away impurities, excess oil, and dirt that may clog your pores during sleep. People with specific skin types may benefit from using products with ingredients such as Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Ceramides.

  1. Toner

After patting your face dry, apply toner on a cotton ball or pad and gently wipe it on your face. Toners are water-based products that remove deep-seated dirt from your pores. It also balances the skin’s pH level, making it supple and ready for serums and moisturizers.

  1. Serum

Serums are products with active ingredients that aim to target specific issues. These problems may range from dark spots, discoloration, and even wrinkles. If you’re unsure which serum to use, try Vitamin C regardless of age, as it helps reverse skin damage while giving you that extra glow.

  1. Eye creams/gels

The skin around the eye is very delicate and requires specific care. This part also ages faster than other areas of the face, which is why it needs eye creams to help treat fine lines, wrinkles, and undereye bags.

  1. Moisturizer

Moisturizers help keep your skin hydrated and soft all over—ensuring it stays youthful and radiant. It also protects your skin from other pollutants before going out, giving it much-needed protection.

  1. Sunscreen/SPF

The sun’s harsh rays contain UVA and UVB, responsible for aging, burning, and even skin cancer. As such, applying SPF product to your skin last for overall coverage is crucial. As a rule of thumb, look for SPF 30 and even higher!

Starting a skincare routine doesn’t have to be a daunting task. When you learn to stick with these basic steps, you’ll find that it gives your skin much-needed pampering and serves as a way to relax and get started for your day. Once you create a consistent daily skincare routine at home, you can expect to see the benefits within three to four months!
