Depression is an insidious illness that affects your entire life. From your mind, body, and soul—many people often believe the lies their depression tells them when they feel particularly vulnerable. Here are some lies that your mental illness may say to you:

  1. “You deserve to suffer.”

People with this mental illness often fail to seek help because they believe they don’t deserve it. Instead of connecting with others, seeking help, and letting out their frustrations—they isolate themselves and allow the horrible thoughts to rot and decay. Such an instance can be worrying because, when left untreated, it can lead to more harm.
